The Structural Steel Fabrication CNC Machine Operator is a safety sensitive position based out of Dallas-Fort Worth.

The ideal candidate must have the ability to read blueprints, program machines manually, and possess knowledge of all mechanical operations that the machine performs, including but not limited to: drill, mill, tap, countersink, scribe, plasma cutting, oxy cutting, beveling, stamping, and punching.

This position will also be responsible for performing daily preventative maintenance on the machine and show advanced capabilities in operating various machinery. This position also responsible for training others on machine use. Incumbent must be a high producer with a strong work ethic.

Experience with Pro Nest and Global Shop ERP a plus. Specifically seeking Structural Steel Fabricator CNC Operators with experience operating HSFDB-2500/C Plate Processor or FPB-1800 Plate Processor.

Seeking for 1st and 2nd Shift at the Haltom City Plant


  • High School Diploma or GED, plus two (2) to three (3) years’ experience working in a fabrication or manufacturing plant operating machines and equipment.
  • Must be able to operate a jib crane, overhead crane, and forklift.
  • Must be able to work in extreme temperatures – hot and cold.
  • CNC Operators with experience operating HSFDB-2500/C Plate Processor or FPB-1800 Plate Processor.

  • Ability to complete on-site training and demonstrate safe operation of machinery
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Must be able to use various precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, height gauges, calipers, dial indicators, protractors, and tape measures to ensure components have been manufactured to tight tolerances.


1. Ability to program CNC machines to determine machine adjustments and material requirements. These programs include but are not limited to the following mechanical operations: drill, mill, tap, countersink, scribe, plasma cutting, oxy cutting, beveling, stamping, and punching.

2. Ability to measure dimensions of finished steel structures to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures; ability to, mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and workpieces on machines, using hand tools and precision measuring instruments; and, ability to adjust machine feed and speed, change cutting tooling, set-up, or adjust machine controls.

3. Ability to listen to machines during operation to detect sounds, such as, those made by dull cutting tools or excessive vibration and adjust machines to compensate for problems; ability to stops machines to remove finished workpieces or to change tooling, setup, or workpiece placement, according to required machining sequences; and, ability to modify cutting programs to account for problems encountered during operation and saves modified programs.

4. Ability to lift workpieces to machines manually and/or utilize jib crane, overhead crane, and/or forklift to lift material.

5. Ability to perform daily preventative maintenance on machines and equipment by inspecting own parts, as well as those of others using tools such as tape measures, scales, calipers, and possibly various computerized measuring devices; ability to perform secondary operations, such as, cleaning and debarring, to manufactured parts and maintains a tidy work area; and ability to record machinery operation variances from normal setting and results.

6. Ability to perform visual safety checks for machine wear, damage to tooling and correct positioning of safety guards; visually inspects and checks to make sure parts are within tolerance; and immediately notifies supervisor of any malfunction.

7. Ability to follow all safety regulations and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), as required for the assigned work area(s).


8Ability to complete administrative documentation, read and complete production orders, Quality Assurance, and manufacturing documentation.

9. Ability to operate various machines and assist with training individuals on machine operations.

10. Ability to participate in audits, incident investigations, etc., as needed.

11. Ability to maintain good attendance, punctuality, follow shop foreman’s instructions, and work overtime hours, as requested.

12. Ability to assist other machine operators, as required, and perform other duties as assigned.

1. 1st Shift: Monday – Friday, 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM with some Saturdays/Sundays as needed

2. 2nd Shift: Monday – Friday, 3:30 PM – 1:00AM

*Shifts adjust accordingly to allow for overtime, as required.
3. Full time shop exposure.

4. Extreme temperatures. (Sometimes due to season)

5. No travel requirements

6. Perform work standing up for 8-10 hours per day and up to 6 days a week

7. Good vision, hearing, smell and balance

8. Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

9. Ability to stand, bend, stoop, squat or kneel regularly as well as climb stairs and ladders
